No tootsie rolls involved....
....just a spinning chair and a prepared camera. Worked like a charm. Now how can we adapt that theory for the family photo...... hm....

Eggnog Latte anyone?

Things Missed....
Well - I am sad to say that because of things resembling H1N1 (that put our entire family out of commission for about 2 weeks), I failed to post in honor of my husband's 30th birthday! I could never have asked for someone more loving and supportive to spend my life with. Thank you Steven for all you do - I love you so much and definitely don't deserve you.
In having little boys, I have found a new form of fun.... experimenting with cake decorating....I found out that my husband's favorite cake as a boy was one his Mimi made him, a 3-D stegosaurus that had actual spikes on it's spine....so here was my effort to surprise my 30 year old hubby. I was a little limited by the need to have a yellow cake with chocolate icing...Happy Birthday Steven.
The rest of the pictures are a lame attempt for me to get pictures of my boys together outside with fall colors. Please note that all pictures of the two together or ANY that involve a smile from my eldest come with the bribe of a tootsie roll.

Sam's Steps

Sam is One!
Okay, I'm four days late....but give me some grace....we were out of town.
I can't believe Sam is one already! My how time flies. In some ways I am so thankful for that, and in other ways I know I will regret that soon. I am enjoying the fact that my boys love to play together and that Sam is now so independent! He loves to cruise around the house holding onto Steven Edward's dump truck or anything else he can use as a walker! He has a couple words (mamma, dadda, nanna for banana, and what appears to be all done). He jabbers ALL THE TIME! He just crawls around the house making noise - and he is SO loud. He loves containers of an sort...and has learned lots from his brother. He already crawls around the house with a car making engine sounds. He puts together (and takes apart mind you!) his brother's leggos and has already figured out how to take care of himself. Steven Edward has come to me several times complaining of how Sam hit him or pushed him. And if Steven is in his way, I have personally witnessed Sam pushing or pulling on Steven to move him (epescially if his destination is my lap and Steven is in it reading books!) He would always prefer to be in my prescense (and boy is this heightened when he is sick - like he actually was on his birthday). He has the cutest curly hair and a dashing smile. No matter how difficult he may be sometimes his smile always makes me melt. He still only has 7 teeth and he weighs around 23 pounds. His favorite toys right now seem to be whatever Steven is holding...but as a second he loves balls. He loves to be tossed, wrestled, thrown, or cuddled in anyway. He will sit and let you rub his hair or back for hours, and just apears to love people. For his birthday we were able to be with lots of family, which was such a blessing. Here are some pictures scattered throughout his birthday weekend.
