So we went on a spring break trip to Topsail Beach NC while my husband chaperoned a trip to Europe... it seems my life is crazy right now getting back into the swing and I haven't been able to put time into my blog. So i am giving you two links of other people's blogs where you can view pictures! We had a great time but... boy were we ready to get home.
Here are the links:

Totally Underestimated My Son
Why is it that we are very quick to say our child can't do something..... but given the opportunity I have found that mine often prove me wrong. Once a friend was talking about how their child could recite the ABC's (Steven was young at this point), and I was all, "Yea, Steven can't do that yet." And then from the backseat I hear my eldest bust out with the ABCs song! Well today was another example. A friend gave us a 100 piece Melissa and Doug puzzle and I was very skeptical. We have a 32 piece puzzle that Steven refuses to try on his own.... so I figured a 100 piece would be totally out of the question. Well - I helped him group them and helped him pick out some.. and totally did the sky because it was all blue.... but honestly Steven did a lot of this on his own. He even put a few pieces in while I left the room to get something! I was floored!
So I suppose now I can conclude that he is in fact bored with our other puzzles and that is why he would goof off and not try. He would jokingly (i hoped or else he was obviously unintelligent) try to put the cow's feet on his head etc.... and I eventually lost my patience. So this was the first shot at a puzzle in a month and he LOVED it! He ate it up and totally worked on his problem solving skills. Goes to show that the mom doesn't know everything. Way to go Steven Edward! It also helps that it was Pirates and he currently thinks Pirates are awesome.

Extended Vacation
Looks like our weekend vacation was disturbed by one day of work before our next two days of play. The boys took advantage of the wet snow to make some large snowmen and a huge fort. Okay.... my husband did it while Steven Edward stomped around and Sam followed me saying, "hold me.... hold me." But Steven Edward showed his gratitude by looking at his daddy after Sam and I went inside and saying, "Daddy, I like you."
